Young Person 1

THOUGHTS OF A YOUNG PERSON 1:

From 13 years old I have been homeless, I dropped out of school and got no GCSE's and struggled to get a job. I spent my nights walking the streets and sleeping rough (in sheds & kennels etc) I hated every minute and no matter what I did I couldn't get anywhere to live, it was a very depressing time for me. I used to walk the streets at night contemplating what to do, would it even matter if I was alive? I had lost everything in that time and having nothing to show for those 6 years.

But now I have my own flat and at college and studying Maths English and joinery and loving every minute of it, because I know I've somewhere to go back to.

I have to thank South Ribble Key for the support and help they provided for me, and the SL.E.A.P. Project, which I think is an awesome thing and was a great help; the family I stayed with were fantastic and I still stay in touch with them and intend to forever.

THANK YOU

‘Mike’
